Office of the Representative on International Legal Matters Hosts Delegation Led by Council of Europe Human Rights Director

The Office of the Representative on International Legal Matters hosted a delegation headed by Claire Ovey, Director of Human Rights at the Council of Europe. Welcoming the guests, Liparit Drmeyan, Head of the Office, emphasized the importance of the Council of Europe’s support in the protection of human rights.

Special attention was drawn to the continuation of efforts aimed at safeguarding the rights of persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh in 2023, as well as steps taken to enhance human rights awareness in the regions of Armenia.

The parties also discussed the work of the interagency commission coordinating the implementation of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. They exchanged views on adaptation of newly developed digital tools aimed at protection of human rights.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation with Council of Europe partners in the effective implementation of the European Court’s judgments.
