On 26 October 2015 in “Media Center” a discussion on the subject of “ECtHR judgment in the case of Perincek v. Switzerland ” took place.
Arman Tatoyan, Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia, Deputy Government Representative before the European Court of Human Rights, Ara Ghazaryan, international law expert, Avetiq Ishkhanyan, the President of Helsinki Committee of Armenia were invited to participate in the discussion.
Throughout the discussion the speakers provided insights on Armenia’s intervention as a third party, the Grand Chamber judgment, in particular, on the new right envisaged in the judgment: the rights of Armenians to respect for their and their ancestors’ dignity, including their right to respect for their identity constructed around the understanding that their community has suffered genocide (paragraph 227 of the judgment).
