Corsan Corviam Construccion SA v. Republic of Armenia

In this case, a dispute arose out of the agreement signed on 27 April 2012 between the Corsan Corviam Construccion SA and the current Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure regarding the reconstruction and improvement of a highway in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The company commenced legal proceedings against the Republic of Armenia at the Madrid Commercial Court No. 1 on 31 July 31 2019.

Within the framework of this case, efforts are underway to settle the dispute submitted to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom regarding Hovhannes Aivazovsky’s painting “Fog” out of court, with the goal of repatriating the artwork to Armenia.
