COE Committee of Ministers’ Annual Report of 2018 was published

In 2019 the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers published its 12th Annual Report for 2018 on Supervision of the execution of judgments and decisions of the European Court of Human Rights. The Committee of Ministers’ annual report presents the status of execution of the main judgments of the European Court of Human Rights by the member States of the Council of Europe. It also provides statistics and information on new cases, cases pending or closed during the year.

2018 saw anew a confirmation of the positive results of the Interlaken reform process engaged in 2010 to guarantee the long-term effectiveness of the Convention system. The total number of pending cases is thus the lowest since 2006. The progress achieved reconfirms the enhanced dialogue engaged between all stakeholders and the commitment of member states to abide by the judgments of the European Court.
