Office of the Representative of Republic of Armenia on International Legal Matters has transmitted a letter on behalf of Armenia to the International Court of Justice

Following the large scale armed attack by Azerbaijan on September 13th on the sovereign territory of Armenia, Office of the Representative of Republic of Armenia on International Legal Matters has transmitted a letter on behalf of Armenia to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) with a request of modification of the Order indicating provisional measures of 7 December 2021 in the framework of the case concerning the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Armenia v. Azerbaijan). Armenia has requested the ICJ to explicitly require Azerbaijan to protect from violence and bodily harm all persons captured not only in relation to the 2020 Conflict, but also any armed conflict between the Parties since that time, upon capture or thereafter, including those who remain in detention, and ensure their security and equality before the law, meanwhile informing the Court about serious violations of the Order by Azerbaijan.
